Case: Tara Grinstead, a popular high school teacher and former beauty queen, spends the day volunteering at the annual Miss Sweet Potato Pageant. She spends the evening at a small neighborhood cookout, and is last seen leaving the cookout at 11pm on Saturday, Oct. 22nd. On Monday morning, the devoted history teacher doesn’t show up for school. Friends, co-workers and the Ocilla Police assemble at Tara’s tiny, bungalow house in a friendly, working-class neighborhood. Tara’s car is parked in the car port, the clothes she was wearing at the cookout lie in a heap on the floor in her bedroom, her cell phone sits in its charger, but her purse and car keys are gone. Nothing is obviously out of place, though family assert that the broken lamp on Tara’s nightstand and carelessly discarded clothing aren’t in keeping with her meticulous style. It is unlikely that this committed teacher and loving daughter would simply walk away from her life without a word to anyone – police are certain of foul play.
